Ode to the Arboretum is a looping dance performance choreographed by my dear friend Nina DiValentin. This is the 10 minute loop of accompanying music containing 4 movements: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. I made it using Ableton Live 11, with Tree Tone by Dillon Bastan playing a central role in the generative tone of each movement. Other sound sources include various Live synthesizers and devices, LABS by Spitfire Audio, Ableton Mood Reel, and environmental recordings of the Oberlin Arboretum. It was mixed and mastered using software like TDR Kotelnikov, iZotope Neutron, iZotope Ozone, and more. Recordings were edited using Izotope RX.
